Summer 2026 Course Info
Inuvik Hide Camp
Location: Inuvik, NWT
Dates: June 8th - June 19th
Application Deadline: February 16th 2026
This summer, Dechinta is excited to be offering two accredited university courses, INLB 201, and INLB 220, that will be completed during a hide camp in Inuvik.
Students will work with hide tanning teachers Delaney and Montana Prysnuk (Vuntut Gwich’in) and professors to strengthen our own creative practices, our collective self-determination, and deepen our understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems and the importance of traditional practices as a way to connect and reconnect to our lands, waters and communities.
Dechinta will not be providing accommodations in Inuvik. Childcare and meals will be provided and scholarships are available.
How to Apply

Download and complete the UBC application form below. Fill it out, save it, and attach it to the Dechinta application form in step three.
2.
Get a copy of your post-secondary transcripts (if applicable) and attach them to the Dechinta application form in step three
*Note: If you are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution you will also need a letter of permission from your current post-secondary institution to apply.
3.
Complete the Dechinta application form below, attaching your UBC application form and transcripts to the application.
