INLB 210 & 220: Letting the Hides Lead: Hide Tanning and Indigenous Self Determination

This fall Dechinta is hosting our bi-annual urban hide camp in Inuvik, NWT. Students receive credits for two university course while participating in a hands-on hide camp experience. These courses highlight Indigenous Knowledge, creative practice and hide tanning as a method of Indigenous self-determination, and are a way to learn about Indigenous politics, world-making and living from faculty, guest-speakers, community members and fellow students. This course is university-accredited through University of British Columbia, and credits can be transferred to other post secondary institutions.

How to Apply
1.
Download and complete the UBC application form below. Fill it out, save it, and attach it to the Dechinta application form in step three.
2.
Get a copy of your post-secondary transcripts (if applicable) and attach them to the Dechinta application form in step three
*Note: If you are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution you will also need a letter of permission from your current post-secondary institution to apply.
3.
Complete the Dechinta application form below, attaching your UBC application form and transcripts to the application.
